Lana always loved magic. Even when she had to hide her stuff before it got burned by her well-meaning family she loved it. She was into tarot by 13 and by the time she was 20 she had her own practice.
The only problem was none of it was totally real. That all changed on the day she hexed her husband. She was pissed at him and cursed him with one of (what she thought) was one of her most potent hexes. Problem was it seemed to work. Over the course of the day her hubby got squised by a car. When she found out about this, she naturally assumed she was responable and her mind collapsed. She never got around to therepy and her mind took what was to her the most rational course avaliable. That is she got even more into magick. The real thing this time.
The old-school dukes around her are calling her school urgomagy and they may be right. Her ruling paradox seems to be that she can only get magick by doing bullshit magic and doing regular magick(rituals, avatar channals) sapps her power. She’s demonstrated the ability to use several spells as her magick, and her only constraints on them seem to be they have to have actually been considered to work at one time, and they can not be rituals. She’s also been seen to have tapped into the ability to fly a couple times and a few other powers. She hasn’t found her way into the occult underground, but they sure as hell have found her.
Obsession: Magic, she wants new spells, powerful spells, and whatever else she can dig up along the way.
Rage passion: Anyone who makes fun of, magick, magic or even the crystal waving freaks is in danger making her go ballistic.
Fear Stimulus (Unnatural): Ever since her husband she’s been really really careful about who she uses her powers on.
Noble stimilus: She wants to show people the true magick, especially people who want to destory it all. She hopes to show them how it can be a good thing.

i’m a little confused on the paradox. she gets real magick by using fake magic, but she can’t use real magick directly. where is the line drawn? she knows she’s doing something real but it’s just real magick with its hand in the puppet of fake magic. if she knows she’s doing fake magic to get real magick, isn’t that breaking her taboo? does she know real magick is involved? if she tried to use real magick, it wouldn’t work no matter how much she saw a real addept use it. what makes it work for her is her belief and devotion to the fake magic? …interesting…
Okay here goes an attempt to awanser your question. Her magick works the way the magic she does is supposed to. When she uses it she gets what she was trying to do (the “spell” she was using does) However if she uses a real ritual(doesn’t have to work anymore or even do what it clamis), artifact, or avatar channel. Then she doubts her own magickal power and loses it. Hope that awnsers your question.
