Speak for the Dead

A handy little ritual for phone pranks.

Power: Minor
Cost: 2 Minor Charges

Effect: The caster speaks in the dead person’s voice until sunup or sundown whichever comes first. No, you can’t switch back to normal before that.

Oh, it also makes you a bit more likely to be possessed by the person whose voice you just stole if his or her demon should try to take over your body (it’s Soul stat gets a 10 point bonus during control tests).

Ritual Action: Take a big handful of ashes from a cremated body (an average body usually gives you a few dozen usable handfuls) and mix it with communion wine stolen from a church during a funeral and thirteen drops of your own blood. Bottoms up!

Pretty cool! Do the ashes have to come from the person whose voice is being stolen?

I like the posession catch. A cruel GM might also add in the downside that after sunup or sundown and losing the dead person’s voice, you can’t speak at all until the next sunup/sundown.

If you can get the blood out of a person, can you make this ritural and trick another person into drinking the “potion”? Very new to the game and unclear if targeting someone else would be an option or not.

It’s designed as a caster-use only ritual, but I don’t see why not.
