first of the Great Triad of female archetypes.

The Maiden:

The Maiden is the symbol of purity and innocence. Throughout history people of been drawn to protect, consume, preserve, and corrupt them. In western society the importance of this archetype has diminished, but it’s power still great. One of the “Great Triad” of female archetypes, along with the Mother and Crone, the maiden represents the first stage in a women’s life.

Masks: The Virgin Mary, Virgo,

Symbols: The color white, the dove, wildflowers

Suspected Avatars: Britney Spears is believed to have been a powerful and successful avatar of this archetype for many years. Her recent fall from grace may be the result of a magical attack by fellow avatars.

Taboo: Corruption and Lust. Sexual activity is first and foremost of forbidden act, but they are not alone. Being a “technical virgin” has no real affect on the ability to channel this archetype, it is a mater of action and perception. An avatar must always seem innocent and unspoiled.

Channels:
1-50% Paradoxically Maidens embody both innocence and sexuality. With a successful avatar check a maiden can insert a brief sexual desire into anyone they make eye connect. Unfortunately for unconscious avatars, this channel is used without their knowing on many men whose attention they wish to avoid.

51-70% The Maiden grants some power to preserve their innocence against the outside world. The avatar can flipflop any violence, helplessness, or unnatural stress check, provided the result is less then their avatar skill.

71-90% The Maiden grants the avatar the power to remove the physical sings of imperfection. With a successful avatar check, the maiden can remove or scar. This cannot be used to heal an injury, only cover it up.

90-98% The Maidens innocence becomes unquestionable. A person must roll a opposed mind check versus the Maidens avatar skill, in order to suspect the maiden or any misdeed or sin.
