Excalibur

The focus artefact of the True King… surprised it wasn’t already up

Description:
At first glance, this just looks like a recently forged one-handed sword, with some sort of old writing on either side. The weapon could do with some polish but is otherwise in good condition.
To an expert in archeology, though, it’s a Viking sword, and carbon dating puts it at at least 1300 years old. Given its obvious well-maintained state, and its actually fairly intimidating sharpness, this is probably good for an Unnatural check, rank 1 or 2 depending how much the archeologist knows about why that shouldn’t happen.
There’s a fair number of occultists who’d have you believe this weapon is proof that Arthur Pendragon is/was the Ascended True King. Whatever the case, good luck putting a sword to much use these days, unless you live somewhere that’s really lenient towards cosplayers or something.

Effect:
First, Excalibur is as sharp as advertised, adding +9 damage to attacks made with it despite only satisfying the normal criteria for a +6 due to its relatively small size. Furthermore, if you really want, you can forcibly sheath it to the hilt in most types of stone – worked or otherwise – although that’s about the limit of its sharpness.
Second – and this is the reason for the first bit – Excalibur cannot be worn down. Every sunrise, so long as it has not been destroyed, it returns to its default, super-sharp condition.
Third, when wielded by a True King, Excalibur is able to heal his Followers. To do this, the wielder must make an Avatar: The True King roll while touching the sword’s pommel to the patient. A success heals the sum of the dice in wound points. This can only be done successfully once per day per Follower, but there’s no penalties for failure, so from an in-character perspective it just takes longer in some cases…

Rumours:
You’re not allowed into the Swap Meet until you’ve found and bought Excalibur just once.
The sword’s obviously a fake. No way would something so steeped in old myths fit with today’s underground.
Even if Excalibur is destroyed, its magickal properties will return if its pieces are gathered and reforged.
Somehow this thing ended up on the set of Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, as the sword of Gryffindor. Any lesser sword would surely have rusted while they were filming it being retrieved from a lake.

Some say you can ward from any damage from this sword by with a Ritual that includes the Pen of a great author, what the ritual is and who’s pen is involved are up for debate.
