Data Recovery

Unnatural Phenomena is up and running!

All the content from John Tynes’ old site has been transferred here, with John’s blessing, including user login, comments and forum entries. If you had a login on the old site, you have the same login here, though you’ll need to use the password recovery feature to generate a new password (as those were not transferred). We’re still tweaking layout and functionality, so please bear with us.

By default, everyone who registered on the JT site has Contributor (can create posts which are then subject to review before publishing) and Subscriber (basic functionality such as changing your profile and leaving comments) permissions on the site, and the Participant role on the forums. If you’re a past author of content on the JT site, ping me and I’ll upgrade your site role to Author, so that you don’t have to go through the review process.

We’re also looking for Editors to help maintain the content of this site, so if you’re willing and have an established reputation, i.e. previous UA posts on the JT site or on the Reddit UA or other forums, please let me know.

Have fun; be nice to each other; and if you have any problems, feel free to contact me.

Great stuff – thanks for resurrecting this. I’ve adding it to the community links over at On Armies Unknown.

When I tried to register a new account, the site returned a message saying I’m a suspected bot – as if GNOMON would be so direct! Could you set me up an account please?

    Cheers. Jagusti.

Whoa, tremendous! I remember losing hours, maybe days of my teens combing through some of this stuff. Thanks for retrieving it all.
