Cost: None.
Ritual Action: First, don’t be an Adept. Second, pick a living Adept that you know well enough to impersonate; for this to work, they can’t know that you’re performing this ritual. For one full calendar month, wear nothing except for their clothes while imitating their habits and speech patterns as closely as possible. You must also complete at least three of the following ritual actions over the course of that month:
- Live in the Adept’s house and sleep in their bed for the full month.
- Replicate a major life transition of theirs: get and then leave a job they once had, start dating and then break up with (or marry and then divorce) one of their exes, or move into and then out of a place where they used to live. The simulated transition must last exactly the same number of days as the real transition lasted in years.
- Sustain a serious injury that leaves a scar closely resembling one of the target’s, or that costs you a body part they’ve also lost. The injury can’t be self-inflicted unless theirs also was.
- On the Adept’s birthday, host a party attended by at least five friends or relatives of theirs. Every guest must bring you an appropriate gift, and must refer to you exclusively by the Adept’s name. Even one slip-up is enough to botch this.
- Perform the target’s significant charging ritual once per day for the full month.
You may pick and choose which of these you want to do, but unless you complete at least three of them, the ritual fails. It also fails if you break the Adept’s Taboo, see the Adept’s face or hear their voice at any point (even a photo or recording counts), or perform any other sort of magick over the course of the month.
An Avatar who performs this ritual loses 1d10% of their Avatar Identity for each day they keep it up, unless their target’s also an Avatar of the same archetype.
Effect: Any charge that the targeted Adept generates goes to you instead. If you see or hear the target, if the target sees or hears you, or if you break the target’s taboo, this connection is instantly broken. You also lose all of your charges if the target Adept breaks their taboo. You can only use this ritual to steal charges from one Adept at a time.
